Twin Lakes Home Builders Scholarship

  • Award: Varies dependent on donations
  • Due: April 15, 2018
  • To apply, complete the application in the link above and complete a TYPED paragraph as to why this scholarship would be beneficial to you.
  • Mail the application, paragraph, and transcript to: Twin Lakes Home Builders Association, PO Box 1321, Mountain Home, AR 72654.  Applications must be received by April 15.



Baxter County Farm Bureau Scholarship

  • Award: $750
  • Due: April 13, 2018
  • Your parent or guardian MUST be a member of Baxter County Farm Bureau
  • You MUST reside in Baxter County
  • You MUST have an agriculture background OR be going into an agriculture field.
  • To apply, you must COMPLETELY fill out the application in the link above.  The last page of the application can be used if you need additional writing space for any question.
  • You must send the application with your transcript, ACT scores, and TWO personal letters of reference.
  • In complete applications will disqualify you from being considered for the scholarship.
  • Mail completed application and supporting documents to: Baxter County Farm Bureau, Scholarship Committee, PO Box 330, Mountain Home, AR 72654-0330.  You may also leave the application at the Baxter County Farm Bureau office located at 1424 Highway 62 W, Mountain Home, AR 72653.

Baxter Regional Medical Center Scholarship

  • Award: Varies
  • Due: May 15, 2018
  • The application in the link above will give you several different scholarship opportunities.  These scholarships all require you to be employed at the hospital while you are pursuing your degree.  
  • You may apply for as many scholarships as you like, but you may only receive 1 scholarship at a time.
  • To apply, complete the application found above, and write a letter to the scholarship committee outlining your career goals and financial need.

Arthur J. and Blanch D. Raef Scholarship

  • Award: Varies
  • Due: March 31, 2018
  • The number and amount of scholarships will be determined by the scholarship fund’s trustee.
  • Recipients will be selected based on academic achievement, extracurricular achievements, and financial need.
  • Applicant must have plans on attending ASUMH in the Fall.
  • To apply, fill out the application found in the link above.  You must also submit three letters of reference from non-family members that you have known for at least 2 years.  
  • Mail application, letters of reference, transcript, ACT scores, proof of ASUMH admission (if available), and your parent/guardian’s tax form 1040, 1040A, or 1040EZ to Paul E. Johnson, Senior Vice President & Trust Officer, PO Box 1906, Mountain Home, AR 72654-1906.



National School Plant Management Association Scholarship

  • Award: $500-$1,500
  • Due: February 15, 2018
  • Awards are based on financial need, academic achievement, co-curricular participation, community service and essay response.
  • To apply fill out the application in the link above, and mail it to the address on the last page.



Arkansas Alpha Delta Kappa

  • Award: $750
  • Due: March 23, 2018 (this is the date that the scholarship application needs to be received, not the date that it needs to be postmarked by)
  • Student must be planning on attending college to receive a degree in education with the desire of becoming a teacher.
  • To apply, fill out the application in the link above.  
  • Application must be accompanied by 1 letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor.
  • Use the second page to explain why you wish to become a teacher, and why you wish to be awarded the scholarship.  WHEN PRINTING THE APPLICATION, PLEASE PRINT FRONT AND BACK.  APPLICATION SHOULD BE SUMBITTED AS 1 PAGE.

National Wood Flooring Association Wood Studies Scholarship

  • Award: $1,000
  • Due: February 1, 2018
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 required
  • Minimum ACT of 25, or a minimum SAT of 1800 required
  • Future study must be at a 4-year college or university in the field of forestry, environmental science, or natural resources.
  • To apply, complete the application in the link above.  Application must be accompanied by your current transcript, proof of ACT or SAT scores, one letter of recommendation from a teacher (in a sealed envelope with signature on flap), proof of acceptance oat a 4-year college or university in the field of forestry, environmental science or natural resources, a resume including extracurricular activities, awards, leadership, community service and work experience, and a 500-750 word essay (using 12 pt type, double spaced) on the following topic, “How does the study of forestry benefit the wood flooring industry?”
  • You MUST include ALL of the above documentation or your application will not be considered.

Safe Driving Scholarship

  • Award: $2,500
  • Due: December 31, 2017
  • Must create a 2-minute video and post it online (YouTube or Vimeo are preferred), and send the link to or submit it using the form in this link.
  • The video must answer the following question: “How can you as a new driver help to reduce road fatalities among your peers?”



ASTATE scholarships for the 2018-2019 school year have been posted to their website.  To apply for their institution scholarships, and for a list of eligibility requirements, visit this site.


The National Co-Op Scholarship Program is a partnership with 9 universities, and gives 160 merit based scholarships yearly, totaling $4.2 million dollars.  If you plan on attending one of the universities listed, please see Mrs. Ivens for application instructions.  The universities that the co-op has partnered with are: Clarkson University, Drexel University, Merrimack College, Rochester Institute of Technology, University of New York Oswego, The University of Toledo, The University of Cincinnati, University of Massachusetts Lowell, and Wentworth Institute of Technology.


GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship

  •  Award: 20 renewable scholarships of $10,000 for a total scholarship of $40,000 each.
  • Due: January 4, 2018, however only 25,00 applications will be accepted.  Once that threshold is reached, the application will be closed.
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must show leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship at school, at the workplace, and within the community
  • Must plan on enrolling in a 4-year accredited college or university in the US during the 2018-2019 school year.
  • Once your online application is complete, you must be confirmed by Mrs. Thornton, so be sure to send her an e-mail when your application has been submitted.

Arkansas Tech University Foundation Scholarships

  • Award: Varies
  • Due: February 15, 2018 (this is the final deadline, they would like to see these turned in ASAP)
  • One application will apply you for all of the foundation scholarships.  The list of scholarships can be found here.
  • Fill out the application found in the link in the title line above, and submit it, along with a letter written by you answering, in detail, these four questions: 1) Give a brief description of clubs, leadership positions, honors, awards, achievements, and community or campus involvement that you would like the selection committee to know.  2) What are your career goals and how do you plan on achieving them? 3) Please list any special circumstances in your family that you feel should be considered by the selection committee.  4) Express what this scholarship means to you and how you feel it will assist you while you are at Tech.
  • Your application should also include 3 letters of recommendation from someone familiar with your work ethic and family situation. Examples are: counselor, principal, teacher, pastor, employer.



Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship

  • Award: 4 $1,000 scholarships will be awarded
  • Due: Must be postmarked by December 31, 2017
  • Must be a graduating senior from an Arkansas high school
  • Must be attending an Arkansas college or junior college (public or private) as a freshman in the Fall of 2018
  • You must submit an essay to the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame to apply
  • To apply:  Submit an essay on how sports made a positive impact on your life.  YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE BEEN A PARTICIPANT IN A SPORT TO APPLY.  Your essay should be no longer than the front of 1 page, single spaced.  No cover page is needed.  Essays longer than 1 page will not be accepted.  Your essay MUST BE TYPED, or it will not be considered.  At the top of the essay, include your name, address, phone number, gender, high school, high school counselor, and the college that you plan on attending.
  • ASHOF board members will review all essays submitted, and all winners will be announced by March 1, 2018.

The Elks National Foundation Legacy Scholarship

  • Award: $4,000 ($1,000 for 4 years)
  • Due: February 2, 2017 at 11:59am CST
  • Must be a child, grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of a living Elk who joined the order on or before April 1, 2015, or a charter member of a Lodge that was instituted on or after April1, 2015.  The Elk must be a paid member through March 31, 2018.
  • Applicants must take the SAT or ACT before December 31, 2017 to apply.
  • Applications will be judged based on the Elks core values; knowledge, charity, community and integrity.

Odenza Marketing Group Scholarship

  • Award: $500
  • Due: March 30, 2018
  • Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Must be a US citizen
  • To apply, fill out the online application in the link above.  The application requires that 2 essay questions be answered online.  Both answers are to be less than 500 words each.


10 Words or Less Scholarship

  • Award: $500
  • Due: March 31, 2018
  • go to and place a comment on any post that you see answering the following question: In 10 words or less, tell us why you deserve the $500 scholarship
  • Before or after writing your answer, you will also need to “Like” the Facebook page.  Only the persons that have both “Liked” the Facebook page, and answered the question will be considered.



Area Art Club Scholarship

  • Award: $1,000
  • Due: March 15, 2018
  • Must be planning to enroll at an accredited university or art school as an art major.
  • To apply, fill out the application located in the link above and submit it with a copy of your transcript and 2 letters of recommendation.  One of your recommendation letters must be from a non-school source.



AXA Achievement Scholarship

  • Award:  52 students will receive a $10,000 scholarship.  One recipient will be chosen from each state, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.  From these 52 recipients, 10 will be chosen to receive an additional $15,000 scholarship.  300 $2,500 awards will be given.
  • Due: December 15, 2017
  • Must be a US citizen, or a legal resident living or claiming residency in one of the 50 states.
  • Must be planning to enroll full time in a two-year or four-year accredited college in the US.
  • Must demonstrate ambition and self-drive as evidenced by outstanding achievement in school, community, or work related services.
  • No documents are required for the initial application.  Applicants that are being considered will be asked to send in supporting documentation such as a high school transcript, and an applicant appraisal confirming the outstanding achievement.

ATU Creative Writing Scholarship

  • Award: 6 awards of $1,500 will be given.  They may be used to pursue any degree program at ATU.
  • Due: December 15, 2017
  • Any high school senior is eligible​

Arkansas Chamber Singers Vocal/Choral Music Scholarship

  • Award: 1 $1,000 award and 1 $500 award will be given
  • Due: Must be postmarked by December 17, 2017
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Must plan on majoring in vocal/choral music at an accredited four-year institution of higher education.
  • Must be enrolled in choir this year.
  • To apply, fill out this application, complete with an essay of at least 300 words (not to exceed 325 words) detailing your desire to have a career in the field of music.  Your essay must be typed on the application.
  • You must also supply 3 sealed letters of recommendation.  One from your choir teacher, one from another one of your teachers, and one from a community leader.

The American Legion Oratorical Scholarship

  • Award: Scholarships are awarded to the three finalists at the local post 52 as follows: 1st place -$2,000; 2nd place - $1,500; 3rd place – $1,000. The local post winner will advance to the national competition with an all-expense paid trip to the Indianapolis Contest with a chaperone. National awards are given as follows: 1st place – $18,000; 2nd place – $16,000; 3rd place – $14,000.   
  • Due: Application and certification must be submitted by December 31, 2017
  • During the local post contest, the applicants will be asked to speak for 3-5 minutes on an assigned topic.  The approved topics can be found here.

Burger King McLamore Foundation Scholarship

  • Due: December 15, 2017
  • Award: Numerous scholarships of $1,000 
  • Recipients are chosen based on academic achievement, participation in school and community events, work experience, and financial information.
  • All high school seniors are eligible
  • To apply, you must register and fill out the application in the link above



The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship

  • Due: November 14, 2017
  • Award: up to $40,000
  • Must be a 2018 graduate who is planning on enrolling in an accredited four-year institution in the Fall of 2018.
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.5
  • Must have a combined SAT score of at least 1200, or an ACT score of at least 26
  • Must exhibit strong financial need.  Family income of up to $95,000 annually will be considered, however, the majority of recipients will likely qualify for a full Pell grant.

The Hagan Scholarship

  • Due: November 15, 2017
  • Award: Award is structured to be distributed differently each college year.  Details can be found here.
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.5
  • Must have a minimum ACT score of 23
  • Must be enrolling in a four-year college the Fall semester following graduation
  • Must work at least 240 hours in the year prior to the start of college.  The requirement can be fulfilled from August 2017-August 2018.
  • Must complete a FAFSA application.  FAFSA EFC must be less than $6,500.
  • Must apply for state and federal grants
  • Applicant cannot have been convicted of a felony.

Sixt Rent a Car Scholarship

  • Due: November 30, 2017
  • Award: 5 one time awards of $5,000 will be given
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.7
  • Must be enrolled as a full time college student in the Fall of 2018 at a 2 or 4 year institution.
  • To apply, fill out the application found here and submit with any required documentation by November 30, 2017.



The Thea Foundation has released their scholarships for graduating seniors.  Their scholarship competitions include scholarships given in the following areas: Visual Arts, Fashion Design, Performing Arts, Spoken Word, Creative Writing, and Film.   For more information, and the applications, visit this link.  If you need help filling out the registration form, or applications, please see Mrs. Ivens.


Prudential Spirit of Community Award

  • Due: November 7, 2017
  • Award:  This is a national scholarship competition.  The top applicant in each state will receive $1,000 and an all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C. in late April, 2018.  Ten of the state honorees will be awarded $5,000 in Washington D.C in late April.
  • Student must be volunteer driven, and have proof of this.  
  • Application must be certified by your principal, or head of your volunteer organization by November 7, 2017



American Legion Department of Arkansas Garner Trust/Coudret Trust Scholarship

  • Award: Garner Trust Scholarship is worth $2,500 and Coudret trust Scholarship is worth $1,000
  • Due Date: March 12, 2018
  • You may apply for both scholarships, but you can only be the recipient of 1
  • Applicant must be a child, grandchild, or great-grandchild of an American Legionnaire in good standing for at least 2 years.  
  • Must be a resident of Arkansas
  • Must provide: one character reference in business letter format from an official of the school, one letter of endorsement from an American Legion post officer, and one from an unrelated person belonging to none of the above.
  • Must send a certified copy of your transcript and ACT/SAT scores and class rank.  This may be obtained from Mrs. Ivens or Mrs. Thornton.
  • The “drug free” pledge that is included in the application MUST be signed.
  • Application must send a 3X5 color photograph and written authorization to use it.  Photo will be used for press releases.
  • On a separate sheet of paper, using essay format, provide a brief autobiography.  Describe your plan for completing your educational and career goals and what lead you into this career pathway.  Explain any experiences or activities that were helpful in developing your leadership skills and justify why you are the most qualified to receive this scholarship.

Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship

  • Due: November 27, 2017
  • Award: 500 4 year awards will be given, varying in amount
  • Applicants must be related to an Elks member.
  • Applicants must be a US citizen
  • Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.5
  • Applications must be complete and all directions must be followed exactly to be considered.

Nancy Luelf Memorial Junior Auxiliary Scholarship

  • Award: TBD
  • Due: Must be postmarked NO LATER than March 17, 2018
  • Must be pursuing studies in a field that addresses the needs of children and youth.  For a list of examples, please review the information found in the link above.
  • Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Applicant must display financial need.
  • Applicant must be involved in community service activities.
  • Applicant must include a letter of recommendation written by someone other than a family member.  Appropriate parties to ask might include a teacher, youth director, and employer.
  • Please include a photo for a press release
  • Applicant must be a resident of Baxter County.

FRA Americanism Essay Contest

  • Award: Awards are given at local, regional, and national level.  Grand Prize is $5,000
  • Due Date: Must be postmarked to national judge by the member-at-large by December 1, 2017.  Please have essay postmarked to the member-at-large by November 15, 2017.
  • Essay must be written on “What Patriotism Means to Me” and not not exceed 350 words.
  • Essay must be typed and fit on one side of the paper
  • You can find a cover sheet for the essay in the link above.  The essay MUST include this cover sheet.
  • Mail complete cover sheet, and essay to the member-at-large sponsor: Mr. Curtis Grant, 473 County Road 511, Gassville, AR 72635.  If you need an envelope and/or a stamp, please see Mrs. Ivens.



VFW Voice of Democracy Scholarship

  • Award: Many scholarships are given at the post, district, state, and national level.  1 grand prize scholarship of $30,000 and an all expense paid trip to Washington DC will also be given.
  • Due: October 31, 2017
  • Applicants must submit a 3-5 minute audio essay on the theme: “American History: Our Hope for the Future”.

Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Scholarship

  • Award: 50 New Century Gold Scholars are awarded $1.5--, 50 Silver Scholars are awarded $1,250, 50 Bronze Scholars are awarded $1,000
  • Due: October 31, 2017
  • Must be a US citizen planning on attending college at a US institution
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Cannot be a relative of any Coca-Cola employee
  • Before filing out your application, gather the following documents needed for application use:  transcript, high school code, counselor and principal contact information, a list of school and non-school related clubs and organizations that you are involved in, and any honors or awards that you have received. (most of this information can be given to you by Mrs. Ivens)

Wendy’s High School Heisman Scholarship

  • Award: 100 scholarships will be given ranging from $1,000-$10,000
  • Due: Phase 1 (general application) due October 2, 2017, Phase 2 (short essay questions) due October 23, 2017
  • Must be in at leas 1 sport
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • To apply, submit the online application using the link found above. (use Mrs. Thornton or Mrs. Ivens as the reviewer when asked)  Once you have submitted your general application, please let Mrs. Thornton or Mrs. Ivens know that your application is out there for review so that we can complete it before the October 4th reviewer deadline.


AES Engineers Scholarship

  • Award: $500
  • Due: October 6, 2017
  • Available to all students who will be attending a post secondary institution.  You are nor required to be taking an engineering course to be eligible.
  • To apply, submit a 500-1,000 word essay answering the following question: When you look back on your life in 30 years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful?  What relationship or accomplishments will be important on this journey?

The United States Senate Youth Program

  • Award: $10,000
  • Due: October 6, 2017
  • 2 students from each state will be chosen to spend a week in Washington DC to observe the national government in action.
  • Delegates are chosen based on outstanding eligibility and demonstrated qualities of leadership.  
  • Must hold an elective office in a student government, civic, or educational organization sponsored by the student’s school.
  • If selected, you must attend the Delegate Conference to receive the $10,000 scholarship

The Horatio Alger Scholarship

  • Award: $6,000-$25,000
  • Due October 25, 2017
  • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree at an accredited 4 year institution (may start studies at a 2 year institution and then transfer to a 4 year institution)
  • $55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income required
  • Must be involved in co-curricular and community service activities
  • Must display integrity and perseverance in overcoming diversity
  • Minimum GPA of 2.0
  • Must be a US citizen

Baxter County Fair Scholarship

  • $500 per semester
  • Due by NOON on the Wednesday, September 13th
  • Must be a resident of Baxter County
  • Application must be complete and signed by applicant and guardian
