Every student attending an Arkansas public school shall participate in the statewide program of educational assessments required in Act 930 of 2017 and established by the State Board. Dates for state assessments can be found on our school calendar, located on our website.Beginning in the spring of 2024, the Arkansas Teaching and Learning Assessment System (ATLAS) became the statewide student assessment system and encompasses a range of assessments intended to measure student progress. The fall of 2024, Arkansas schools administered a new aligned literacy screener for K-3 and new K-2 screener/interim/summative assessments in literacy and math.
Assessments are meant to be a diagnostic tool for evaluating progress to meeting grade level standards. This assessment helps our teachers to identify weak skills and intervene in order to meet all student needs. The interims are given at designated points throughout the year to identify progress prior to summative assessments given in April.
